If it’s great sporting facilities coupled with miles of sandy beaches and glories sunshine, then a visit to the Costa del Sol is a must.It offers traditional whitewashed houses true to spanish tradition, surrounded by outstanding natural beauty. You can visit the Barbary apes on the rock of Gibraltar, this is still British territory, but don’t forget your passport as all shopping is duty free here. Better still watch out for famous faces such as Antonio Banderas, Bruce Willis or Melanie Griffiths whilst shopping in the upmarket resort of Puerto Banus where designer shops attract the rich and famous. But don’t forget the kids, there’s a great water park to visit as well as the zoo.
Eating Out
The birthplace of Tapas bars, even the smallest of Andalucian villages can boast at least one of these traditional Spanish eateries. There are of course plenty of British style bars serving food just like you get back home, but that rather defeats the object when there is such an array of local fresh fish such as clams, crab, prawns, mussels, need I go on. The local drink of Jerez sherry makes for the perfect accompaniment to any of the local specialities.
Places to Visit
Visit Puerto Banus just to take in the atmosphere of the playground of the rich and famous. Meander the streets while window shopping in some of the most chic of boutiques then sip coffee or cocktails at a pavement side cafe whilst watching the yatches bobbing around in the harbour.
